Buying a Foreclosed Home in Puerto Rico

Foreclosed and bank-owned properties are one of the most direct ways to buy below market value in Puerto Rico. When a borrower defaults, the lender takes the property back and lists it for sale, often priced to move quickly. The listings below are pulled live from the Puerto Rico MLS and updated throughout the day, so what you see is what is genuinely available right now.

What makes a foreclosure purchase different

Bank-owned homes are almost always sold “as is.” The seller is a financial institution, not a family, so there is rarely a disclosure history and repairs are seldom negotiated. That is not a reason to walk away, but it does mean an inspection is essential, and you should budget for deferred maintenance. Titles also need a careful review: liens, unpaid CRIM property taxes and HOA balances can survive the sale if they are not cleared at closing.

Where we see the most activity

Our team tracks repossessed inventory across Toa Baja, Toa Alta, Dorado, Vega Alta, Vega Baja, Manatí, Arecibo, Hatillo, Guaynabo, Carolina and San Juan. Availability moves fast and varies a lot by municipality, so buyers who are pre-qualified and ready to act tend to win these properties.
